You spoke, we listened
You may remember a few months ago, we announced that we had changed the default setting of Yahoo!7 Answers to display just ‘Australian questions only’. While this didn’t affect the number of people from seeing your question, only decreasing the number of questions you saw from international users, there was an overwhelming response from those who commented on the blog.
You said you enjoyed seeing more questions in some of the smaller populated categories. We read your comments and after much deliberation we made the decision to change Australian Answers back to default ‘All English Questions’, just like it was before.
This doesn’t mean you can’t change back to seeing only Australian content. If you liked seeing just the Australian questions (and many of you did) you simply have to go to the drop down box on the bottom left below the menu, click on it and select ‘Australian questions only’ instead of ‘All English questions’. This will display all questions that were posted on the Yahoo!7 Answers site as opposed to other international sites. You can even go back and forth between the two, depending on what category you’re in . The choice is yours.
Thanks for providing us with your valuable feedback.

Can’t you set a button or check box so that users can decide which one they want to see…ALL the time?
Everytime I answer a question I click the big Yahoo7 logo in the top left corner to go back to see the list of questions, so that defaults back to “All English Questions”. It’s a little annoying to have to change it back after every question I answer….
cheers
thanks for changing it back to the way it was before
i prefer it that way again
Thank you so much, It was annoying me to hell.
Can’t you have it so that the question asker can delete questions even if they have been decided?
Why not Australian only confuses me with networks (mobile phones) brands that we do not buy here let alone use. It computer some of it is okay but lets concentrate and simplfy Q& A Australian Then decide whether the other countries information is valid or not..
GOOD that was the crappiest idea ever and i bet no-one liked the other way anyways grrr im so angry you people did it in the first place..i hate you for that but at least now im relieved
Now can we get rid of the stupid spell checker and the one that tells you off for using “too much punctuation” or CAP LETTERS, please? We are not idiots (well, most of us aren’t!)
Personaly I Liked It When The Default Was Set To Australian Answers Only In Yahoo7 Answers. After All It’s Easy Enough To Change If You Want More Variety By Clicking A Flag At The Bottom Of The Page. I Guess I Must Be In The Minority Though So I Guess I’ll Just Have To Get Used To Changing It To My Preferance When I Enter Answers From Now On!
thank you. This is a much better default…after all this the INTERNET.
Setting the default as all english makes it so much easier to get feedback.
I noticed the change-back right away, thank you for listening to the majority.
nice
I am one who liked the Australia Only default. I want to see Australian relevant questions most of the time.
It annoys me now it is back to english. Any way of being able to set it as a preference to Australian in our accounts/profile?
Don’t forget, you can change back and forth depending on which category you’re in. For example, you might find ‘Australian Questions Only’ to be most relevant in the Mobile Phone & Plans section but prefer to change back to ‘All English Questions’ when answering in other categories.
Thanks for your suggestions about choosing one or other as your personal default. We’ve passed them on to the development team.

To thoughts001au: there is a comments section that can be added to even after the question has been resolved. It’s located in the panel below the Best Answer.
Y does it go back to “all english questions” after I have clicked on “all australian questions “???
I am sick & tired of americans posting questions on the “australian question” site.
