What’s happening to my image?
Following last week’s announcement, the transition to the new Yahoo!7 Profiles is now taking place on Answers. You will start noticing changes in your options.
What does this mean? From now on, instead of importing your image display from Yahoo!7 360, Answers will use the image from your Yahoo!7 Profile. For those who like to have different images, keep in mind that in the future only one image will be displayed in all of Yahoo!7 Services. 360 users should update their image and make sure they keep the one they want.
To ensure that the image you want to show on Answers is the right one, we recommend you go to http://profiles.yahoo.com now and activate your new profile. Once you’re there, you’ll be asked to verify some information that you’ve previously shared with Yahoo!7, and to select the image you’d like to share with the Answers community.
If you have never used other Yahoo!7 services and haven’t activated your profile yet, your image will show up as the “Grey Face.”
For those of you who display an Avatar on Answers – don’t worry. This won’t change.
Both Avatars and nicknames will continue to remain the same on Answers.

The picture I am using for Yahoo Messenger does not show up on Answers. Currently I am using a photograph of myself, but sometimes use an avatar — which I change frequently.
Does my Answers picture have to be a Yahoo avatar? If so this seems to trivialize serious comments. If it is the case that the avatar appearing in answers follows that current in Messenger it makes even less sense.

There are a few properties that are not currently in-sync with this (which includes Flickr, MyBlogLog, and Messenger) and gradually all Yahoo!7 properties are moving towards profile integration. The profiles team works closely with each of the other Yahoo! properties to create a smooth transition to the new profiles service.
To get an image rather than an avatar on your Answers account, you will have upload it to Profiles http://profiles.yahoo.com then select to choose your Profiles picture rather than an avatar on your Answers profile page. http://au.answers.yahoo.com/my/my

I have selected to display avatar which is not being displayed, it was until a couple of days ago. I’m new to this stuff so don’t understand about tech talk. If you say that for those of us who display avatar on answers won’t change – why did it?
This sucks. i just lost my avatar, and when i rechanged it on this junk new profile, i answered a question, and someone else got my avatar, and i got a different persons avatar. Why can’t yahoo just leave well enough alone? Not only this, Aussies have had to put up with ads popping up like spam all over yahoo pages, following us around top to bottom. Even when it is closed, it pops up again. Sort your crap out yahoo. This is why you suck. Right now i have a random womans face as my avatar, thanks to your BS and changes. Not happy in the least.

I am really confused now. My new photo is showing instead of my old avatar for the past week, which is fine and what I wanted.
Unfortunately, tonight my handle “sprocketrocket07″ has disappeared and is shown as a “?” – Please help!
Told you I was confused. I have mixed my handle – It should read “No Way Jose.”
Seriously, all has been fine until tonight.
every time I comment now on a question my photo is switched wit another user. its very annoying
put my pics back,they were only nice ones i have ,NAZI FUN POLICE.

The old 360 format was nice in letting us have choices & being creative.

My avatar picture is constantly being swapped with other people’s when I answer questions and I am finding it very frustrating. I understanding that you are updating but I would prefer to have no picture than for my picture to go to other people’s answers. When will this be fixed?
Have managed to update my profile, and marked my nickname “No Way Jose” to return.
Checking back on a previous answer, someone called “vodca ice” is using my picture (blocked that person), and someone called “Angela” has used my answer – This person also has my points, rating 4 and start date (unable to block).
I have reported this problem within the question – I hope that this problem is amended asap.
Concern is regarding privacy. Has Yahoo made some mistake, error in system or are there some hackers causing trouble?
this sucks change it back, the new page wont even display my image. yahoo is crap now.
I changed my Avatar but it seems changing every minute to loads of different ones it sucks!!!!!
Why does the pic have to be square?? … we want it back it was before!
Today, everything seems to have been rectified with pictures/avatars and nicknames being returned. I hope there was no privacy issues. Would have liked Yahoo to have offered some explanation to allay my worst concerns which I have posted, but nothing has been received.
My avatar has disappeared and when I click on the link it displays my 360 page, it doesn’t have any prompts to activate a new profile or an opportunity to reset my avatar. I do as it says and click on the profile link but it doesn’t have any way to rectify the situation. My avatar is still on the 360 page so why doesn’t it show up on my answers page?
I now have a grey face…..although I am old…. gees I am not that old!. I cannot upload to Yahoo Profiles..as when I click ‘upload photo’ nothing happens. I cannot upload photos from anywhere. Used to be easy from Yahoo 360o It seems that I am not on my lonesome
