Do you think there has been too much coverage of Michael Jackson’s death?

We’d all agree. there has been such an outpouring of grief over Michael Jackson’s death. In fact, the coverage almost hasn’t stopped. From the moment we got news that he’d died of a heart attack, we’ve been bombarded.

What really killed him: Cardiac arrest, Painkillers, his doctor or the media? Are his kids biologically related to him? Who will look after them – his mother Katherine Jackson, Janet Jackson or Debbie Rowe? Where can you get tickets to his memorial? What were some quotes from the memorial?

All these questions and thousands more have been debated on Answers and it’s not looking like it’s ending. Where will he be buried? Do you think the press will honour his wishes by keeping his children out of the spotlight?

However like his life, Michael Jackson’s death hasn’t been without controversy. Mostly people seem to have adored this icon and truly appreciated the impact he’s made on this world. Others are focused on his accusations of sexual impropriety and still feel Michael was a paedophile who was allowed to walk free. Regardless of what you think of him, you have to admit we’ve all got an opinion about Michael Jackson and we’ve all given our two cents worth over the last few weeks.

The other question that I have been pondering is the media coverage surrounding his death. It’s been the most dramatic coverage since Princess Diana died but did he make the biggest impact on the world? Do you think it was a little extreme or do you think it was justified for such a star? I’m interested to hear your thoughts.

  1. I don’t believe there is too much coverage, but I believe the media are hypocritical. For 10 years they gave him bad press to sell magazines, newspapers and make people watch TV. They treated him so badly he was forced to keep his children in hiding. Then, when he dies, they are all his biggest fans.

May this be a lesson to appreciate people while they are alive and stop trying to tear them down.

  12. It is overdone and he has had very little real impact on the world apart from making some people very rich with his spending sprees and record sales. However he hasn’t done anything for a long time except been a horrible example of how to destroy oneself in public, how to remain infantile and not take responsibility for ones actions and how fame and fortune can destroy.

  13. I forgot to mention in my previous post that his drug abuse is his own fault and no one else’s. The blame shifting by his family and supporters is amazing and his massive debt was his own fault & no one else. He is a prime of example of being unable to cope with commercial success and the tragic belief in his own publicity. The moonwalk is his big contribution – OMIGOD .. many can do that and sing better than him. It was all hype and media circus & still is.

Nothing on TV except MJ specials and repeated day in and day out!! I am so mad at the media for repeating over and over and over that same clip of poor little Paris on that stage!! For heavens sake the media has to quit!! All channels should have a stop notice put on them …dont mention his name for at least another 10 years!!! And then they sit and cross over from one to the other with nothing but silly chatter and nothing concrete to talk about and repeating clips over and over!! I have not turned on the TV today can’t avoid it..will turn it on later to watch tour de france thats it!!

  21. Too much coverage?…NO! He deserves ALL the recognition he is receiving! He was a Human Being! just like you or me…he gave all he had to his Fans, Music, Liberation of African American Culture, opened our eye’s to the extreme poverty and violence going on against women/children/men the world over. Different? Yes, Michael was different, that’s what made him so special! I only wish I had the guts and drive that he did! Continually being hounded by the Press/Newspapers/TV..he was never far from prying eye’s who were waiting like a pack of “Vultures” to tear him down…BUT they never did! We can all learn a lesson from Michael….reach for what YOU believe in and don’t let anyone or anything stop you in your dreams to do what YOU want to do! High accolade to his Band and Family for such a well presented/honest and tasteful Memorial to a man who wasnt just a singer/dancer/food for tabloid gossip..but to a man who triumped over extreme obstcles and such personal hatred directed toward him for just being..DIFFERENT! As the Reverend said: Children..your father wasnt strange;but the way that people treated him was”! Never a truer word was spoken. My heart goes out to the Jackson Family and Especially his beautiful children he left behind…may we ALL protect them from the ever=present “Vulturistic Press” so they can privately mourn a man who was mearly…their Father.
R.I.P MICHAEL Your music changed my life and will enevitably continue to change the coming generations for many decades to come..A GENTLE SOUL IN HEAVEN FINALLY AT PEACE

It gets all a bit to much. It was a shock to hear & see that he is dead but do we really need to know about the will, his kids & the now circus they are living in. Has anyone stopped to think about those poor kids & what they will have to go through now their dad is gone. Let them all be to get on with things & as much as I don’t like him let him RIP.

  25. I totally agree, I am very angry that people I know that believed all that crap about him are now jumping on the grieving band wagon.

I have been a fan since as far back as I can remember, and never waivered once on his innocence.

But yes the media is using his death to their advantage. Personally I can never get enough of Michael Jackson I watch it in celebration of the person he was and his music.

And for Steve who said he is a musician the same age and drug free and still alive… WHAT HAS THAT GOT TO DO WITH ANYTHING.

Just because you are alive doesnt mean anything, I know people who have worked in the same professions as other and have been fitter and have died way before their co-workers (and they were drug free)

  29. It has been all to much and has been so one sided with virtually no mention of his court cases. And was he that influential? I don’t recall the same amount of hagiography when John Lennon or Elvis died. If they go on like this for Michael Jackson, what will it be like when Gary Glitter goes?

  30. As a fan – no I dont think it is near enough – think about something you really care about and in a flash it is taken away – you need time to adjust to ask why to get out of the numb stage – all this media is part of the healing closure his fans need –

To Steve the so called muscian – MJ was not a musican he was an artist a singer the most extraordinary dancer (bit more exercise than player your organ there Steve) he was in the throws of a grand come back he was rehearsing only the night before and if you have ever seen him dance even you must admit that that kind of dancing exerts a tremendous amount of energy.

Please dont compare your self to him – it only makes you a laughing stock – if you are so great how come no name of a band.

The only thing you have in common is your age so no I really dont need to think about the fact that you are still alive

  38. I know a lot of people who have judged and criticised Michael for what they have heard on the radio for 5 mintues – that he was charged for child molestation and that he is automatically a bad person, even though all charges were acquitted because there wasn’t enough evidence. They don’t bother to look further into how amazing this man actually was, how big his heart was and how much he was willing to make everyone else happy before himself. Nobody wanted to look past the things they had heard on the radio and seen on the news.

Yes, there has been a lot of coverage, but like people have said – the media owes him that much. Marlon Jackson spoke perfectly yesterday – we will never know what Michael had to go through whenever he left his house and was judged and ridiculed. I don’t even want to imagine what sort of hell he would’ve had to live through.

Lots of people say that it’s just a death and we need to get over it, people die everyday, yada yada yada… but Michael Jackson actually had a good message to share to the rest of the world and we need to learn that message.

  45. There has been WAY too much coverage. Much of the so called outpouring of grief was CREATED by the media, not simply reported by the media. Was a good excuse to look at other channels. Found a couple of things I liked on 9 actually. Would not have happened if it had not been for the excessive MJ coverage on 7.

Now, to ramp up the hype when it suits them they hail him as the greatest of all time. He had suffered enough from the criticism, the bad things happened to him, which made him cleared of all the allegations people made against him. Do people know what MJ really is guilty of? Surely we don’t know your story if you have been accused of wrong-doing that you aren’t guilty of, either.
Like what the Reverend said to his children ‘………..your father is not strange it’s the strange thing that your father had to deal with”.
Give this man some respect, surely you wouldn’t want people to criticise you.
The problem with people is they never look at their own backyard, but good in looking at others.
Respect others if you want to be respected.

It seems most of you have hit the nail on the head, the media chase you and make your life hell, and when they go to far and lets face it they never know when to stop they suddenly begin to praise and speak so well of us once its too late. Yes its part and parcel with being famous but having said that we dont hear of all stars they seem to be able to vanish in to life somewhere.
I think people need to realise that stars do not have a normal life to start with and Michael certainly didnt. He coped well with what he was given and I think the rev made a perfect point in the speech at the memorial. It said something about Michael was not a weird person but what he had to contend with was weird. God bless Michael and may his children have the respect they deserve.

  60. media coverage of anything will reflect the public’s media consumption of the subject. as a pop star he had a huge number of fans and so there will be a huge number of people who will buy the mag or newspaper to read about him. the media is a buisness and will report anything that will sell their product. so i think the question is not was there too much coverage but are people too curious about and/or emotionally attached to these people in the media they have either never or breifly met…

If she wants to say goodbye, let her say it at his private funueral instead of at his memorial when millions of people are watching her. Although it really moved me let her be. Just let the family grieve in peace and stop pressuring the family. Let them decide in peace where to bury him or if they want to cremate him. That is all. This is my opinion. 84. Any big news will always get a lot of coverage and in this case, it’s substantial because it’s Michael Jackson. He is after all, THE King of Pop, an eccentric character nonetheless but always the kind humanitarian and a fragile, beautiful soul he really is.

It is a shame that the media have suddenly decided to embrace him after treating him so viciously over the past decade or so. Such immoral bastards. And what’s even more sad now is, I don’t see an end to this “circus”. They will now be focusing on his kids. I really wish they’d just leave them alone but we all know that’s just wishful thinking. This is how the media works, and society will never get enough of scandals and gossip.

Rest in peace Michael. You will always have a place in my heart.

  86. I’m sure if one of your love one died you would just want to put them to peace and be done with it. To move on, not forget but grief and accept.

I think the media – as they always are – are just trying to get the biggest scoop, the better gossip. And they never stop still they get something, and when they get the smallest thing, they blow it out of proportion.

Michael Jackson was always the back-up plan for when the media had nothing to bitch about, They framed him as a pedophile and that he liked little kids.

That was never the case. Michael grew up in a harsh, religious family where he’s father beat him and made him preform and they didn’t believe in birthdays and christmases.

Michael Jackson invited kids over to sleep the night and hang out at Neverlands with him because he just wanted to have a childhood, to have toys and gifts. He didn’t even consider the fact that people would think he was a pedophile.

He was a generous guy, who gave things out to help us and the media took advantage. I think people should let him rest in peace. The media are full of shit and don’t care that he’s dead, they just want a story. Really, fuck off, Media.

  88. The media shapes peoples lives for the positive and the negative of the person who is being targetted.
The people who won lotto in the millions to superstars who are never left alone to live a normal life.
MJ is but one unfortunate superstar who was a great entertainer sorely missed by millions.
It is also unfortunate that the media downgraded his lifestyle and shaped his life even in death.
    Rest in peace MJ.

  91. I watched many interviews with him. The media was always asking why he was white, how many surgery he had, how much did cost his goods…there was no reporter interested on the person he really was. He was repeating and repeating how much love he had in his heart, but they didn’t care about that. They didn’t want to know about his art, how many hours he used to work to make his show. To the dirty media was more important to put down the man who was born black and now was white and about him being pedophile…how come someone be so blind to the fact that people only wants his money?Ask yourselves: If your son daughter is a real victim would you accept money to shut up? Come on! What a dirty world. That was because they only wanted his money. I grew up watching him and listening his music. We are almost the same age. I will miss him, but I believe he is in a better place.

  93. No, I think it was fitting for him especially for his humanitarianism. He deserved it and to be exhonorated and also for what the courts and media did to him in not understanding him correctly and tainting his reputation. What a crime they committed for him to have to live under that dark umbrella that they shrouded him with. He truly was a beautiful soul and I sorely regret that I did not know him or was able to reach out and help and show him what was really going on.For the enemy satan comes but to kill steal and destroy. His funeral was fantastic and well deserving of him.Truly fit for a king. The KING OF POP. Rest.In.Peace Micheal with the Saints of God and our brother Jesus. For only God Our Creator can see straight into the hearts of his people .I will see you in Heaven Micheal on those Golden Streets. Why didn’t we hear from the like of Sharpton, Brooke Shields, and every other individual on the stage and at the memorial? Oh, Pul-eese. Talk about photo op. I love the coverage as it means I have 24hrs a day Of my idol, but yet so bittersweet… he is gone…. there will be no ew news of him.
In a way this is a good thing. He will no longer be hounded, he will no longer be ridiculed, he will no longer be accused of blatant lies.
Yet still the media circus goes on as if it has a right to destroy these peoples lives.

He will live on through his music, leave his family anone, leave him alone.

  98. While I am a Michael Jackson fan, I too feel that there has been too much coverage and I do not for a minute believe the coverage has been for the benefit of his fans. I think in some way, maybe some of the media personalities are in shock and because they want to talk about it, they are talking about it.

As for who had a bigger impact on the world, Michael Jackson or Princess Diana… Well no one heard of Princess Diana till Charles married her in 1981. For much of that time she was famous for being famous. She had no personal talent but did use the spotlight that shone on her to draw attention to worthy causes.

Michael Jackson on the other hand has been in the entertainment business since 1964. Whether you consider him a musical genius or not, you can’t deny that man was a talented entertainer. As Al Sharpton put it, the world was a very different place in 1964. The world was more divided, more segregated, but Michael Jackson rose above that was was loved by blacks, whites, asians, jews, christens, muslims, hindus. Go to the most remote corner of the world and you will most likely find a fan of Michael Jackson.

Now some people scorn at such popularity, saying that, that just means his music lacked any real substance. But those people clearly haven’t paid much attention to the actual lyrics of his songs. No, he transcended all boundaries because he sang about songs that transcended all boundaries. He sang about love, he sang about war, he sang about being scared, he sang about hope. Comparing him to a woman who was famous for being pretty and having a sense of fashion is, no offence to Princess Diana, kind of insulting.

As for those accusation of child molestation… well… I have a very simple test for that. This man had deals with countless children. Hundreds, if not thousands, of children went through his Neverland Ranch and the only two children who accuse him are from families more screwed-up then anything even day time soaps can dream-up… that doesn’t make any sense to me.

Plus, most paedophiles try to hide what they doing. Instinctively knowing it’s wrong and that if they get caught they’ll be in trouble. But Michael Jackson had an almost childlike confusion regarding those allegations. It really was like telling a ten year boy that he couldn’t sleep in the same bed as his other ten year old friends.

I think Michael Jackson was probably asexual and had low to nil sex drive. He wasn’t “normal” but he was no paedophile. That’s what I believe.

  99. I still hold my suspicions about Jackson. I’ve been reviewing not just the court cases (first case, the father was a nut job, second case, the mother is) but also other things and I am still seriously concerned, I think he got away with it like OJ. If he was an everyday person and not a star, we would all be seriously worried about his behaviour, and not calling him a misunderstood ‘Peter Pan’. I believe in remembering his music but he was just a pop entertainer ultimately, why do we have to glorify him? Are we so culturally and spiritually bankrupt that this is all we have to worship?

My feelings are extremely divided about Jackson. I grew up with him on TV. And in the early days, he was so cute and full of talent. I believe he had a good side, also a darker side, and there wasn’t much in between. His emotional development was arrested by harsh treatment in childhood, but that didn’t excuse his later actions. He should have had some help, but unfortunately was surrounded by enablers and unscrupulous people. I would not be surprised if in the future stories from other victims (which it’s said there were, who were too embarressed or intimidated to come forward) and people who covered for him but were hushed up emerge. Already there is a story about a disturbing incident involving a 13 year old fan from 1979.

I’ve enjoyed reliving the music and entertainment (he had some great early disco hits and was perhaps the best child performer ever), but am extremely uncomfortable about elevating him to hero or legendary status.

I do believe the children are indeed his. You just have to look at those two boys… Even blind freddy could tell they are his.
Paris looks like her mum, but you can see a little MJ in her. I said to my husband, the day MJ died that I felt like he has been murdered and only now are the tabloid rags coming out and saying the same thing. What a waisted life! He could have made a difference if he made Jesus his King and not himself. What heritage did he leave his kids? He is not their real father and they dont have a mother who cares about them. They will be mixed up liked him. I feel sorry for them.

  112. Personally I think it has been given way too much coverage. Before his death people had forgoten all about him and now in death he is on our television sets 24/7, his death has done far more more then his come back tour would of ever done and he is not here to enjoy it. He was a great artist and dancer and he should be remembered however its now getting ridiculous. We must also remember the media which is giving him centre stage was also the same people that did alot to destroy his career.

While Michael Jackson is being covered in the media non-stop, people are being killed all over the world especially soldiers dying for our country and there is no greater honor than that. He should of been given coverage for a day or two but thats it, people should be given the amount of coverage in relation to how much they did for the world. One may argue he was this great humanitarian that gave alot to charities however it seems to me as if he blew most of his money on himself and his theme park to live like a child. Then when he did give to charities it was more for the reason of him being in the spotlight with the cameras and the oversized check, donate in silence Michael. Anyway love him or hate him he was a great performer, RIP MJ.

  119. Let’s face it, you either loved him or hated him but the fact remains, Michael Jackson devoted 45 years of his life to the world. Whether it was his singing and dancing which inspired other to follow his amazing steps/dances or his voice which was angeletic and yet powerful. MJ spread the word through song. Songs which had meaning and made many of us think of who we are, others not so fortunate and the environment we live in.
Yes he was a little weird but we only knew of this via the media who as we know have to dramatise his life to get a reaction from the public and they succeeded. No different to Heath Ledger, Princess Di, Elvis Presley… to name a few. They all had played some dramatic scene before they died…according to the press.
I grew up with MJ’s music, dancing and his powerful energy which brought many a smile to my face. I thank him for this and that’s what we all should be doing. Block your ears to the malicious tongues of those who assumed just to get our attention, close your eyes and just listen to his music. You to will smile.
I am an avid fan of MJ. To ask if there has been too much coverage of MJ’s death….Yes and no. MJ’s family gave something special to his fans by letting them be apart of the memorial. That’s where I believe it should STOP. A chance for millions around the world to say goodbye but we all know that it won’t stop because even though MJ is gone, the media will hunt down any info they can just to make a headline… which we will all read.
Let the man R.I.P now and allow his family to grieve in peace.

  130. The death of Michael Jackson is totally overrated. So what if he died, Farrah Fawcett is dead but there hasn’t been a single tv special done on her. I was flicking channels the other night and nearly every channel had some show about Michael Jackson. Where’s the Farrah Fawcett special, she contributed so much yet hasn’t been recognised. I personally preferred Farrah to Michael. Yeah he had some good songs, but look what he did when the music fame ran out. Child abuse allegations, dangling his son from a balcony, etc, etc, etc. Someone needs to tell the media that he’s not the only dead celebrity.

Way too much on tv those who say no because they need time for it to sink in – grieve on your own – we don’t need it to be constantly on our tvs. when a family member dies you don’t get it flashed all across the tv just so it could sink in. The king of pop – never he shall be round here his songs and dancing were great in the begining but one cannot put aside the acusations that were made about him and all the other strange things he did. Lets face it he lost the plot and now hes dead…. and I cretainly don’t need to go shopping and listen to his music in every store.

After pulling out all my old Michael Jackson albums 4 my 9 yr old daughter to hear, she now also has MJ fever. We’ve got another generation loving him.
Lets not buy trashy magazines that feed the media, its the only way to stop them.

  139. I really can’t get over some of the comments made in here. The question was “Do you think there has been too much coverage of Michael Jackson’s death?”
Some have answered the question while others have added their own version of what the media has been ridiculing MJ for years. You people are no better than the media such as….NO NOT AT ALL, I THINK CHILD MOLSTERS SHOULD BE PUT ON TV AS A SUPERSTAR ALL THE TIME!!! GLAD HE’S GONE!!!
and this….. ahhh i think it was too much of a fuss for michael jackson’s death…the media is overdoing it…let the poor guy rest in peace…sorry guys am not a fan of Jackson. industry.
Firstly….I have experienced the pain of molestation. How can anyone ridicule a man from what they have read in the tabloids. Any of you will experience a part of your life where you will want to do something you missed out on doing during your childhood or teenage years. How many of us have done that? Yet MJ sets up a place (Never never land) invites children to enjoy it… Why? Question… Did MJ have a normal childhood?
As far as the comment…..” I dont think he did much in the music industry” ….. WOW! Have you even looked into MJ’s 45 years of entertaining the world. Too quick to judge, too quick to blame and too quick to accept what you read in the papers/magazines. You are no better then the wolves (media) who prayed on MJ.
One last thing…. What has Farrah got to do with this?
I watched Charlie’s Angels way back then. I liked her acting but seriously…. we are talking about the man who was labeled ‘KING OF POP”. Nearly 5 decades of dedicating himself to the world. How could you possibly put Farrah in that catagory? R.I.P MJ & Farrah.

  140. Funny how the stories of Michael Jackson dropped off the day after the memorial. The media will wait for the toxicology results & it will all start up again.I reckon he probably suicided, like so many other larger than life celebrities. The pressure on him must have been horrendous.I loved his music & dancing but his private life was none of anyone’s business. It’s the media that ruined his life. And it will continue way after his death. Just wait for the books.

  141. WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES…UNLESS YOU ARE ME YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I HAVE ENDURED IN MY EVERYDAY LIFE. YOU JUDGE ME FROM WHAT YOU HERE SO PLEASE, WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES…I married a child entertainer who like MJ never grew up. The entertainment industry has a lot to answer for as do their parents and the media. As child stars they DO NOT have a normal childhood, they lack the skills children learn from their peers. While other children are ‘hanging out’ together, these starlets are at rehearsals or home schooling or on tour etc. The parents are the ones who make the choice for them when they’re young – they decide their child’s future until they reach an age when they can make those decisions. As a child star my husband has paid the price, not with drugs, but his health has suffered mentally. It really is a very sad existance.

If you look into the lives of some of these childhood stars they all suffer with something at some point in their lives, whether it be drugs, alcohol or some sort of breakdown. There is no way on earth I would want to be in the limelight or related to someone of such a high profile. How about you?

Has there been too much coverage? I don’t believe so. MJ was a megastar. He was a great humanitarian who was trying to survive in this world the best way he could.
Thanks for the memories Michael. You will be sadly missed, Julie

  143. Yes, way too much. If MJ was as intelligent and as much as an icon as the media says he was (which I believe as far as music he was), how could he send his mind away every day into the land of nowheresville. And not just normal drugs but very heavy, heavy (anaesthesist’s) drugs. So, you tell me, how clever is that I ask you? Not way too clever at all. He didn’t want to be here, that’s for sure and he took his position far too seriously. I think he is a sad case of a person who isolated himself from the world. The very people who could have helped him (jo blog on the street has more spirituality than any king of pop could possibly even attain to or any hollywood guru he came into contact with). MJ was classically known as constantly looking for spirituality when all the time it was right under his nose. He would have been better off just being a normal person and living a normal life with no money, no furnishings to speak of. Sorry Michael, you are not such a clever boy after all. But yet his fame killed him in the end. MJ was not as clever as the media made him out to be, nor was Elvis or Heath Ledger for that matter. I feel sorry for his kids lsoing their dad, but maybe not. Maybe they won’t have such an eccentric lifestyle now that he has gone and perhaps some sense of normalcy will return to their lives if it isn’t too late for them. Time will tell and we’ll see.

  144. MJ was a controversial genius and like all controversial famous people there is bound to be a lot of biased reporting. No good can be had by potraying the weak side of MJ but we have still to see the media report the achievements of this musical genius. The media should show more respect as the King is dead and most importantly leave his little children alone. Prying on the innocent is nothing less than child abuse.

  148. I was over it after the first day!!!

It’s ridiculous how much coverage he’s received. Two weeks of TV specials, pages upon pages in newspapers and every internet page known.

How is he more special than any one else who’s died… HE’S NOT!!!

Farrah didn’t get this attention and she was a good person who died a horrible painful death.

Several other celebrities and just good honest people died that week too and they barely get 3 seconds of recognition.

And then there’s the thousand of innocent people around the world who’s time just happened to be up.

Are they not special, are they not missed, are their families not in overwhelming grief from lossing someone they loved?

He’s not the King of anything, and he wasn’t the greatest musician.

The true groundbreakers of the industry lived and died well before him and never received true recognition and in the early days of blues, sole and r&b, most of them got paid next to nothing.

Why are people celebrating the life of a pedophile? I know thousands of celebrity blinded people are living in denial, proclaiming his innocence but be honest, would you have left your children with him????

He had millions of dollars of debt from constantly paying people off to shut up. Even the jury was joke, some had family members working for him.

What’s next… a state funeral and minutes silence when Charles Manson goes?

Get real, there’s more important things to worry about in this world.

  149. Hey Steve, Michael may be dead but he did make a difference to the world. The whole world. I doubt if you make a difference to anyone and guess what… Hey you’re still alive! Just remember this Steve, Beavis and Butthead aren’t alive either, but they rock.

  150. Definantly too much coverage. Yes he was famous, but so were the other people that died recently. Many of them could have also been much better then he was at what they did. They hardly got mention in the news.
The man is dead, he has been half way there for many years now let him be and move the hell on.

  151. I think you guys shouldn’t be judgemental. Its his time to go and never blamed anybody of his death. God gave him life to live and time for him to be in his kingdom. Nobody is perfect! Michael doesn’t know us personally but as human being we are all brother and sisters in Christ. Better we offer him a prayer and to his family. We are the future, let him rest in peace and let us all conquer evil thoughts and let peace, love and forgiveness resides in our heart.Peace to you all!

  153. One Michael Jackson CD in my collection does not make me a fan. But I mourn HIS death the same as any other famous person. I think the public in general should somehow pass the message to the media that we DON’T CARE where his brain is, where he is buried, who his kids biological parents are, etc etc. Leave them alone now.

  154. How is it that now that he is dead everybody loved him ? The entire world seems to forget that he was nothing more than a mentaly unstable, strange little man who molested children. Now that he is dead all of a sudden he was a brilliant man who everybody loved ! how does this work ? let pedophiles rot in their graves!

  155. i find it a bit too much….

there are far more pressing issues that need to be identified by the media…

theres also the fact that this is the same faculty of communication that not to long ago was calling him a pedophile and a wacko… and all of a sudden they have nothing but praise for him… the media in this circumstance seems nothing but two faced in my opinion.. in my honest opinion just let the poor man rest in piece…

  156. Michael Jackson deserves this. He is a Legend and people in Gen Y don’t even know it. You think he’s some mad man but he is most successful and greatest entertainer in HISTORY! If i would rate the amount of coverage i would say it’s not enough. Go MJ you legend. Believe me he’s most known for his smooth dancing skills and talent than all the bad stuff. It’s just in these overrun countries one little thing can do a lot. He deserves this. Also now he’s in a better place.

  157. I guess I would like to know what makes him more special than anyone else who has died. All of us contribute in our own way to this world.
Farrah Fawcett died the smae morning, and what did we see or hear…nothing!!
To top it all off the poor kids are left in the custody of the same people that turned MJ into a nutter. God help the poor kids.

Too bad people say what they really think of you after you have gone. Why didn’t we hear of all the charities he helped and all the good he did? Maybe we should have just one day a week where the press just print good things instead of all the crap they print now.
I think his kids will be well taken care of as long as his Father doesn’t get his hands on them.
Rest In Peace now Michael, the press can’t hurt you anymore……….

I think it was a heartbreaking news and needed huge coverage, as it has impacted the whole world.
Its true media is bad, and also they make you think the way they want to, so that they can get fame and money.
I do not believe Michael was a pedophile he was true hero and a legend. Its a big mistake made by few people to call hm pedophile .He was a KING in a true sense.I feel sorry for people who could not understand such a gud heart, they missed something which you can say a kindheart (Michael)
I love him and want to pay my respect to him and my heart cries for him……
    I love you MICHAEL.

Another sad moment for everyone to think about.
God bless Michael and may his children have the respect they deserve

  161. I don’t think MJ has control over the media from the dead, so spiting him for it is extremely ridiculous. He has publically hated the media anyway, any public gatherings were always for fans.

If you don’t dig his music/or him just turn off the TV/quit reading anything about him… Or else just productively continue whinning about him and deny the simple fact that you can control what you see/read by avoiding media coverage on MJ.

  162. leave him be and rest in peace, he was a kind hearted human being, and a child in a growm mans body, innocent and sweet and a genius in his own right. I have never been a big fan of his but do believe in humanity. The media is a killer, proven over decades just to remember poor Marilyn, Elvis and Pricess Di, let them all rest in peace, leave them alone they had suffered enough while alive in this cruel world we live in.

yea, maybe he was Wacko Jacko but now he is dead and people should stop with the advertising.
